Can anyone tell me the height of a B2710 to the top of the ROPS? Also, I can't find anything about these models having a folding or lowerable ROPS (unlike NH or JD).....do these stay in place or can the be routinely moved? Planning on a purchase later....was expecting to get the tractor in my garage depending on the ROPS height.

ggman, the height to the top of the ROPS on the B2710 is 78.5 inches. I have a canopy on mine that adds a little over an inch, but it still fits through a 7 foot door just fine. And I've found nothing in the manual about a folding ROPS, or any other optional ROPS, but I've been told there IS a different one for use with the backhoe. ....

I was just at a local dealer in Pipersville PA and they had a new B7500 with the foldable rops on it. This was the first time I had seen one on a B series machine. I did not ask if it was available on the bigger B's but it must. So either way you should be able to get it in the Garage! ....

ggman, My B2910 came with foldable ROPS, so it is available for the larger B series. From the ground to the very top of the ROPS, it's a bit less than 89 inches (turf tires), so it looks like (comparing to Bird's 78.5 inches) it's a bit taller. But, heck, they fold, so it shouldn't matter ;-) According to my bill, it was $155.53 extra. ....

Jerry, I would have a chat with your dealer if indeed he charged you an additional $155.53 for the folding ROPS, because as far as I know, the folding ROPS is standard on the B2910HST. ....

Well, I was wrong - my manual confirmed that the folding ROPS is indeed an OPTION on the B2910.

Mr. Carver at Carver Equipment sent me the following information:

"On the B2710 and B2910... the two post, NON FOLDING, rigid and low height
ROPS is standard equip. and should be provided with the tractor being sold,
rented or leased.

A Folding ROPS is sometimes ordered by customers so they can safely operate a
BH and have ample additional head room when sitting in the BH seat, storage
in places, passage through low doors.

When a Folding ROPS is ordered as an individual item (and switched out for a
brand new ROPS at time of new sale) the MSLP is $580.00
In addition to this price, in coming freight and service to R/R the ROPS, tax
are all additional costs factors.

For dealers that keep both in stock (as we do) our cost PRICE difference in
the two type is $150.

So a customer should expect to pay from $150. To approx. $600. to get a
FOLDING ROPS depending on their particular circumstances.

We discourage the purchases of the FOLDING ROPS and really ask each customer
that indicates they want one to understand how serious a mistake it will be
NOT to keep the UNIT in the UP position when operating the tractor.
I feel they are "just an accident waiting to happen" when an operator gets in
a big hurry or is lackadaisical about the importance of the ROPS and seat
belt." ....

Elkoboy, thanks for the update...I didn't think the folding ROPS were standard, and the brochure for the 2910 only showed the non folding ROPS. The only reason I got it was 'cause the dealer had one 2910 on the lot and he cut me an outstanding deal. Haven't folded them and probably never will. Sure do love that tractor! ....
